What was important to you about your wedding- what were your priorities from the very beginning?
Our priority from the very beginning was to have a big party with all our family and friends coming together. Little did we know at the time of planning, making that happen would be a lot more difficult than what we anticipated. COVID-19 had a massive impact on our wedding which resulted in us, like many other couples, having to postpone it on many occasions. In hindsight we are glad that we did postpone our wedding as we got the day we wished for and more. COVID-19 brought perspective to what was important and that was sharing our day with our nearest and dearest! If we could do it all over again we would not change a single thing!
How did you meet originally and get together?
We met at The Points bar in Belfast on 14 April 2018. It really was love at first sight with Colm getting down on one knee not too long after in July 2019 on a beach in Donegal. The wedding on the other hand did take a bit longer due to a global pandemic!
Cake: Cakes by Kate (Instagram handle katiecoopcakes)
Could you sum your wedding in a couple of sentences- how would you describe the look and feel of the day, the vibe?
Our Wedding Day was everything we wished for and more- literally the best day of our lives. It felt extra special to have all our friends and family in one room celebrating our special day especially in light of the COVID-19 pandemic which had such an impact on so many special occasions up until that point. The day itself was just one big party! Everyone including ourselves were just so happy to be out socialising and dancing! There was definitely a few sore heads the following morning!
Reception music: Rare Aul Stuff
What advice would you give to other couples planning their day?
People use to say to us ‘Enjoy your day as it goes by in a flash!’ and really there are no truer words spoke! It is literally the quickest and most enjoyable day of your life. Enjoy every second and do not sweat the small stuff!
